New videos show the positive impact of the new primary curriculum 10 May 2020

The Project for Curriculum Reform at Primary Level of Basic Education in Myanmar – CREATE has produced a series of videos to show the positive results and how its teaching-learning process helps achieve the objectives of the new curriculum.In these movies, you can see how children investigate new ways of thinking, explore and express their discoveries, and learn to comprehend different kinds of texts as well as to communicate actively. One of the four movies is on the assessment in the new primary curriculum which is more than measuring how much children remembered but it also promotes learning and improves teaching. Grade Four Introduction Training for In-service Teachers (Central Level) 19 Feb 2020

Central Level of Grade Four Introduction Training for In-service Teachers took place from 14th January to 6th February 2020 at Education Management Training Center, Htaut Kyant and primary heads as well as primary teachers selected from respective States and Regions participated in the training. This central level training was divided into two batches where Myanmar, English, Social Studies, Morals and Civics, and Performing Arts were discussed during the first batch while Mathematics, Science, Life Skills, Physical Education, and Visual Arts training were given in the second. Teaching of the new curriculum Grade Four and conducting of classroom assessment were introduced during the training and participants of the central level will act as trainers for respective subjects in the next State and Region Level trainings. Grade Four Introduction Training (State and Region Level) will take place from 23rd March to 8th April followed by District Level training from 20th April to 6th May, and Township Level training from 8th to 23rd May respectively while central level training for teacher educators from education colleges will take place from 17th February to 5th March 2020.

New Grade Three Training Module and Videos Available Now 04 Sep 2019

Introduction trainings for new Grade Three curriculum which is being implemented starting this 2019-2020 academic year have taken place from previous April to May all over the country. Training module (township level) and lesson videos for respective subjects that were used during these trainings for in-service teachers are now available for download in following links. New Primary Curriculum for More Active and Expressive Children 02 Jul 2019

Ministry of Education, with the support from Japan International Cooperation Agency, has been developing the new primary curriculum. Two short videos produced for the purpose of promoting better understanding of this new primary curriculum among public have been broadcasted nationwide at the beginning of the current academic year. These videos show how Myanmar children can become more active and cooperative and that their creativity and expressiveness can be improved through the newly developed primary curriculum. Grade Three Introduction Training for In-service Teachers (Central Level) 13 Feb 2019

Central Level of Grade Three Introduction Training for In-service Teachers was held from 21st January to 8th February 2019 at Education Management Training Center, Htaut Kyant and subject-specialized teacher educators from education colleges participated in the training. During this three-week-long training, training for new Grade Three Mathematics, Science and Social Studies subjects were given in the first batch while Myanmar, English, Morality and Civics, and Visual Art subjects were discussed in the second batch and Life Skills, Performing Art and Physical Education subjects in the third batch. Teaching of the new curriculum Grade Three and conducting of classroom assessment were introduced during the training and participants of this Central level will act as trainers for respective subjects in the State and Regional Level. Grade Three Introduction Training for In-service Teachers (State and Region Level) will take place from 1st April to 10th April and respectively, District Level Training from 22nd April to May 8th and Township Level Training from 10th May to 25th May in all over Myanmar.

3rd Supervisor Training Workshop for the Introduction of the New Primary Curriculum 28 Jan 2019

The 3rd Supervisor Training for the new primary curriculum introduction was held at Htauk Kyant Training Center (Yangon) on 17th December 2018 for the first batch and on 20th December 2018 for the second batch respectively. Representatives of local education administration and education colleges participated in this supervisor training workshop and the attendees will support conducting and supervising Grade 3 trainings for in-service teachers and for education colleges, as well as the implementation of the new Grade 3 curriculum at schools across Myanmar. Topics such as policies concerning the new primary curriculum and review of Grade 1 and Grade 2 curriculum implementation were also discussed at the training.
